£28,136 to £30,952 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)
At Austen Cottage Children's Home, every night is an opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people. We're looking for compassionate, resilient and dedicated Waking Night Care Workers to join our team. In this rewarding role, you'll provide a safe, stable and nurturing environment throughout the night, helping children feel secure, supported and cared for.
Working with children and young people, you'll play an important role in promoting their wellbeing, supporting their routines and ensuring they feel safe within their home environment.
You'll be more than a night worker. You'll be a trusted adult, helping children settle, responding to their needs during the night and supporting them to begin each new day feeling safe and ready to succeed.
Hours:
Full-time, 40 hours per week, working 10pm to 9am on a rota basis, including weekends and occasional daytime shifts.
- Providing overnight supervision and support within a safe and nurturing home environment.
- Supporting children with evening, nighttime and morning routines.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Promoting children's emotional wellbeing and responding appropriately to their needs during the night.
- Carrying out health and safety checks and maintaining a secure environment.
- Completing accurate records, reports and handovers.
- Supporting the day-to-day organisation of the home and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment.
- Working as part of a team to provide consistent, child-centred care.
- Supporting children to develop confidence, independence and life skills.
- Experience working with children and young people, ideally within a care or support setting.
- A caring, patient and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Resilience, professionalism and a positive attitude.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- A genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young people.
- A full UK driving licence.
