We’re looking for a Senior Transport Advisor based out of our Head office in Coventry to join us on a permanent contract. It’s a brand-new position for our Fleet team so read on to find out how you can shape this role…

Everything you need to knowIn this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting our Maintenance Workshops, internal customers, and Central Fleet teams, ensuring safe and compliant transport operations across the Severn Trent network. Acting as a subject‑matter expert, you’ll lead on all aspects of goods vehicle compliance, monitor OCRS scores and drive improvements through effective stakeholder engagement. You’ll stay ahead of legislative changes, implement updates in line with DfT and DVSA requirements, respond to incidents, carry out investigations, and provide clear recommendations to senior leaders.
As the first point of contact for fleet‑related queries, you’ll own complex issues through to resolution and support operational response during weather‑related incidents. As you’ll be visiting sites for audits and meetings, a valid UK driving licence is essential.
In order to succeed in this role, you’ll bring proven experience in a busy transport or fleet environment within a similar sized organisation. You’ll be confident managing stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Transport Manager CPC is requiredStrong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise in a fast‑paced environment are essential, alongside excellent communication skills.
You’ll also have a strong understanding of transport compliance, DVSA standards, and health & safety regulations, supported by solid IT skills across MS Office.
It would be desirable, but not essential, for you to have experience working within transport, fleet, or compliance environments, alongside strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
