Up to £45,000 Basic Realistic OTE £64,000 An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Diagnostic Technician to join a busy and professional commercial vehicle workshop in Reading. This role is ideal for a skilled technician with strong diagnostic capabilities who enjoys fault finding, repairs, and working across multiple vehicle manufacturers. You'll be joining a modern workshop environment with excellent earning potential, ongoing manufacturer training, and genuine career progression opportunities.

The Role Carrying out advanced diagnostics and fault finding Completing repairs identified through diagnostic inspections Servicing, maintenance, and general repairs on HGVs Working across a range of commercial vehicle manufacturers Ensuring all repairs are completed to manufacturer standards Maintaining accurate workshop records and documentation Supporting workshop productivity and customer satisfaction Requirements Level 3 Qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (preferred) HGV Diagnostic Accreditation or equivalent experience Proven experience diagnosing and repairing HGVs Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Organised and able to work to deadlines Good understanding of health and safety requirements Desirable LGV/HGV/PSV Licence IRTEC Accreditation Manufacturer Diagnostic Accreditation Roadside Assistance qualifications Bus and coach experience Time-served technicians with significant experience will also be considered Training & Career Development Manufacturer-led training programmes Additional technical certifications available Opportunities to gain specialist qualifications Clear progression pathways into senior technical and management positions
