Fed up with being stuck in one place and want a hands‑on role out on site?
Do you enjoy practical work where you can physically see what you’ve built?
Looking for a role where you’re trusted to get on with things — not micromanaged?
This is a full‑time, permanent Engineer role, focused on installing cabling, CCTV, and network infrastructure across residential and construction sites.
You’ll be part of a small, close‑knit team delivering high‑quality installs, with the opportunity to build your knowledge of networking over time — without being expected to know everything from day one.
Working pattern & locationYou’ll be field‑based, working across sites primarily in and around Coventry.
- Regular travel to sites, including projects in London
- Occasional overnight stays may be required
- Working hours can vary depending on site constraints (e.g. earlier finishes on building sites)
- A basic salary of £26,500 – £30,000
- Clear, transparent expectations from day one
- No overtime culture — time off in lieu instead
- The opportunity to develop your technical skills over time
- A stable role with a practical, supportive team
You’ll be working on‑site installing and supporting network and security systems.
Your role will include:
- Pulling and installing Cat5/Cat6 cabling
- Installing CCTV cameras and related equipment
- Setting up racks, cabinets and network hardware
- Assisting with connecting devices to networks (training provided where needed)
- Working in high‑end residential properties and on building sites
- Adapting plans on‑site and solving problems as they arise
- Maintaining a clean, professional standard of work at all times
Ideally, you’ll:
- Be hands‑on and comfortable working in a physical, site‑based role
- Have some experience with cabling, CCTV or similar installations
- Be presentable and professional (client‑facing environment)
- Be able to think on your feet and adapt when plans change
- Be based within a reasonable commute of Coventry (ideally 20–30 minutes)
Nice to have (but not essential):
- Basic understanding of networks
- Experience working on construction sites
- Willingness to travel and occasionally stay away overnight
If you’re looking for somewhere you’ll never be micromanaged, this is it.
This is a business that:
- Trusts people to do their job
- Values practical work and common sense over process
- Supports learning over time rather than expecting perfection on day one
You’ll be treated like an adult and supported to succeed — not managed to death.
