Experienced Tax Preparer / Staff Accountant – $62K–$80K

Location: Covina, CA 91723

Employment Type: Full-Time (In-Office)

Rate: $62,000–$80,000/year (DOE) + Benefits

We are a long‑established accounting and tax firm in Covina, CA, recognized for accuracy, professionalism, and exceptional client service. Our team works extensively with Quick Books Desktop, Quick Books Online, and Lacerte Tax Preparation software , and we are seeking an Experienced Tax Preparer / Staff Accountant who is comfortable working with these platforms while supporting a diverse portfolio of individual and business clients.

This is a full‑time, in‑office role ideal for candidates who thrive in a collaborative, detail‑driven environment.

• Prepare tax returns for Individuals, Corporations, S‑Corps, LLCs, and Partnerships

• Review prepared returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance

• Respond to tax notices and communicate with clients professionally

• Provide proactive tax planning and strategic recommendations

• Manage multiple client engagements, deadlines, and priorities

• Utilize Lacerte Tax Preparation software for return preparation and review

• Bonus: Experience with Non‑Profit, Estate, or Trust returns

• Perform reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records using Quick Books Desktop and Quick Books Online

• Prepare financial statements; assist with payroll and sales tax filings

• Review financials for consistency and accuracy

• Support clients with bookkeeping and compliance needs

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation and accounting

• Proven ability to lead tax review and manage client projects independently

• EA or CTEC‑Registered Tax Preparer preferred

• Lacerte Tax Preparation experience a plus

• Strong communication, organization, and client‑service skills

• Spanish bilingual ability a plus
