CNC Programmer, Aerospace Precision Machining; Mastercam, 5-Axis + Tooling

You’ll program and prove out flight-critical parts start to finish, from CAD model to finished part, on multi‑axis mills and live‑tooling lathes.

Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client, a precision aerospace and space‑grade machining company in the Covina, CA area with more than 60 years in business. The shop machines flight‑critical components to AS9100 and NADCAP standards for top aerospace and space programs. Four‑day work week (four 10‑hour days, Monday through Thursday) with Fridays off.

• Programmers who own a part start to finish, from CAD model to proven G‑code, not just editing existing programs
• People who live in live tooling, multi‑axis, and mill‑turn work, not mill‑only specialists
• Machinists who set up and prove out their own programs on the floor
• Aerospace or tight‑tolerance backgrounds who care about traceability and getting it right

If you only run existing programs, or have worked mill‑only your whole career, this probably is not the fit.

You’ll program across Brother Speedio 5‑axis mill‑turns, HAAS lathes and mills (3, 4, and 5 axis), and Tsugami Swiss machines, using Mastercam (2025 or 2026) and Solid Works. You’ll partner with engineering on production travelers and tooling, and continuously optimize cycle times on the floor.

• Program multi‑axis mills and live‑tooling lathes in Mastercam (2025 or 2026), 3+2 and full 5‑axis
• Model and review parts in Solid Works and interpret CAD blueprints with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Set up, run simulations, and prove out programs on Brother Speedio, HAAS, and Tsugami Swiss equipment
• Machine aerospace‑grade materials including titanium, stainless steel, and aluminum to tight tolerances
• Build setup sheets and production travelers with engineering, and edit NC code to improve run times
• Support AS9100 and NADCAP compliance and daily continuous‑improvement practices (GEMBA, 5S)
• 5+ years CNC machining and setup experience, with at least 3 years programming in Mastercam
• Multi‑axis mill programming (3+2 and 5‑axis) on HAAS and Brother Speedio, or comparable machines
• Lathe programming with live tooling, C‑axis and Y‑axis (non‑negotiable for this role)
• Blueprint reading with GD&T and strong shop math (algebra and trigonometry)
• Written and verbal English proficiency
• Aerospace background with AS9100 and NADCAP (any ISO‑based quality management system considered)
• Tsugami Swiss and mill‑turn experience
• Solid Works modeling, and experience mentoring or training operators

Pay: $45 to $65 per hour, depending on experience and skill level
