Substitute Teacher

About This Role

Peachtree Prep and Peachtree Academy are looking for three outstanding long‑term substitute teachers for elementary classes (Prek‑5th grade) to work 6‑12 week assignments opening during maternity leave. We also seek on‑call substitute teachers for a variety of age groups across Prek‑12th grade at four campuses in Rockdale and Newton County.

• Experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, coaching, tutoring, or youth program setting
• Positive attitude and strong communication skills
• Ability to engage students and maintain a productive learning environment
• Dependable, flexible, and professional
• A heart for helping children learn and grow
• Teaching experience or education background preferred, but we welcome talented individuals with relevant experience

Instruct students in the classroom according to the lesson plans provided and create supplemental activities to keep students engaged.

For the older groups / subject specific classes (Math, Spanish, Social Studies, Science, ELA) a degree is preferred.

• $90 per day for a full day from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Pay rate based on education level and experience

The early childhood division of the school bases its academic program on a weekly unit of study for academic advancement. Teachers use lesson plans to guide the delivery of information and address individual issues of advanced skill levels or areas of improvement that are needed. Parents may supplement the curriculum by bringing in books, materials, or ideas related to the theme for the benefit of the class.
