Your afternoon could be dedicated to building a comprehensive estimate, leveraging estimating software and your historical cost database to validate pricing. As bid time approaches, you help craft proposals and client-facing presentations, ensuring the numbers are clear and defensible. Throughout, you stay current with codes, standards, and industry trends so our solutions remain compliant and cost-effective.
- Develop complete cost estimates for industrial electrical projects—materials, labor, and overhead included.
- Review drawings/specs to define scope and flag risks early.
- Conduct site visits to gather data essential for accurate pricing.
- Partner with project managers and engineers to consolidate inputs and clarify assumptions.
- Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes for competitive pricing.
- Maintain and refine a historical cost/pricing database for reliable benchmarking.
- Contribute to bid proposals and presentations for clients.
- Track industry trends, codes, and regulations to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
- Proven experience estimating electrical work in an industrial environment.
- Deep knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation methods.
- Fluency with estimating software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional analytical and math abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Clear, professional communication skills for effective collaboration with teams and clients.
- Self-directed work style with the ability to manage multiple concurrent estimates.
- Relevant certifications or a degree in electrical engineering or a related field is a plus.
