Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services owns design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The team is responsible for maintaining data centers and critical systems for continuous customer access.
We seek a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE) to support vendors, contractors and teams in construction and commissioning of systems such as power, HVAC, and building management. Your role will provide testing oversight and manage third‑party commissioning vendors.
Key Responsibilities- Support vendors, contractors, and internal teams for construction and commissioning of electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
- Review design documents, equipment submittals, and lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT).
- Manage third‑party commissioning vendors during pre‑functional, functional, and integrated systems testing.
- Document lessons learned and drive program improvements.
- Deliver multi‑discipline input into scheduling, test script development, design and planning of projects.
- Audit vendor activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
- Provide regular reporting of commissioning progress and metrics to the Regional Commissioning Manager.
- Lead multiple projects simultaneously, meeting milestones and managing project budgets.
- 5+ years of engineering, installation, or commissioning experience in electrical or mechanical systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Ability to read, interpret, and create construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
- Experience with building codes and related regulations.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook);
SharePoint preferred. - Strong communication skills and highly organized in high‑stress environments.
- Experience developing and executing test procedures based on design intent and approved equipment submittals.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures.
- Proficiency in developing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems or components.
- Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestic and internationally up to 80% of the year.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
