Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer, Field Engineering

This role provides full life‑cycle support to AWS Data Centers, from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer you will be the go‑to engineering resource for your region, using your expertise to support operations, design, and construction projects.

• Troubleshoot site/equipment failures and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to create corrective action documentation.
• Support operational issues through ad‑hoc training, procedure reviews, and event support.
• Own the conceptual design for data center upgrades, improving capacity, availability, efficiency, and sustainability.
• Interface with the data center operations team, design engineering team, server hardware team, and environmental health and safety team to promote consistent standards.
• Develop innovative solutions for AWS data centers.
• Work on concurrent projects across multiple regions.
• Initiate and lead engineering audits, producing reports with risk assessments and recommended mitigations.
• Act as resident engineer during new construction projects, supporting construction, commissioning, and turnover.

Basic qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Valid and active driver’s license.

Preferred qualifications:

• Strong engineering judgment with the ability to recommend solutions under uncertainty.
• Detail‑oriented and data‑driven.
• Experience solving problems with engineered solutions.
• Experience managing engineering projects and consultants.
• Ability to build trust and relationships with stakeholders (Operations, Controls, Construction, Design, Commissioning, Product Managers, Program Managers).
• Adaptable and willing to work in the field.
• Excitement for a mix of office and field work.

USA, GA, Covington – USD 96,600.00 –  annually.
