We are seeking a Senior Product Engineering professional to support the development and industrialization of innovative products and manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for ensuring product designs are optimized for manufacturability, assembly, quality, and cost, while leading engineering efforts across new product introduction (NPI) initiatives.
This individual will act as a technical leader, partnering closely with cross‑functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and operations to deliver scalable, high‑quality production solutions.
Key Responsibilities Product & Process Development- Lead development of manufacturing strategies for new products, ensuring successful transition from design to production
- Influence product design through Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) principles
- Develop, build, and optimize pilot manufacturing lines to meet process capability and efficiency targets
- Design and implement scalable manufacturing processes aligned to cost, quality, and performance goals
- Provide technical leadership across product development and manufacturing activities
- Drive continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes and identify efficiency opportunities
- Lead risk assessments (e.g., FMEA) and develop mitigation strategies to reduce production risk
- Partner with R&D to ensure product designs are manufacturable and meet performance requirements
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on tooling, equipment, and material selection
- Support design reviews, product testing, and validation efforts
- Lead technical activities associated with product commercialization and launch
- Coordinate development of tools, equipment, and manufacturing methods
- Support make vs. buy decisions, vendor selection, and site readiness activities
- Contribute to product cost modeling, capital equipment planning, and process documentation
- Support process validation activities, including protocol development and execution
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Typically 4+ years of relevant engineering experience (or equivalent advanced degree with experience)
- Experience in product design and/or manufacturing process development
- Strong understanding of DFMA, DFSS, and process optimization methodologies
- Experience with CAD and simulation tools (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Knowledge of tolerance analysis, GD&T, and engineering drawings
- Experience with process validation, DOE, and statistical analysis preferred
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to lead projects and manage technical deliverables independently
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to present complex data clearly
- Experience working in cross‑functional and matrixed environments
- Knowledge of regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., medical device, pharmaceutical, or similar) preferred
- Role may require on‑site collaboration depending on project needs and manufacturing activities
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment supporting product development and production
