Mechanical Process Engineer

Location: Covington, GA

Salary: $60,000 ~ $120,000 (commensurate with experience)

Schedule: Full-time, Onsite (40 hours/week)

A global Japanese automotive parts manufacturer is seeking a Mechanical Process Engineer to support manufacturing process improvements, equipment design, automation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands‑on manufacturing, machine design, and Kaizen activities in a collaborative production environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Improve manufacturing processes, equipment, and production efficiency through continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives.
  • Design, modify, and optimize manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and production processes.
  • Lead equipment installation, machine modification, testing, and process validation projects.
  • Analyze manufacturing issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop engineering documentation, including mechanical drawings, specifications, work instructions, and project reports.
  • Manage engineering projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with vendors and contractors.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and cross‑functional teams to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, machine design, automation, and process improvement.
  • Experience with CAD software such as Solid Works or AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, pneumatic, hydraulic, and manufacturing systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or root cause analysis is a plus.
  • Hands‑on experience with fabrication processes, machine troubleshooting, or equipment installation is preferred.
  • Basic PLC knowledge (Omron, Allen‑Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens) is a plus but not required.
  • Japanese language skills are welcome but not required.
