Electrical Technician

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Job duties and responsibilities are below and include but are not limited to working collectively with the Director of Engineering & Maintenance in overseeing and streamlining Maintenance and Engineering to achieve company goals.

Become the equipment expert for all mill related and auxiliary equipment, including Mill, Furnace, Tables, Saws, Shears, Grinders and Pickling line.

Design and develop electrical systems and components, including power distribution, automation and control systems tailored for manufacturing processes.

Conduct tests on electrical systems to ensure functionality and safety, troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Assist in installation and start-up of new equipment.

Maintain detailed documentation of electrical systems, including schematics, specifications and maintenance records.

Work with operations to improve the quality and efficiency of the process/product.

Establish and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance and spares plan.

Learn and gain proficient level knowledge of RS Logix 5000 that controls the mill complex.

Create and maintain GANTT (or equivalent) schedules in support of capital installation, equipment repairs and upgrades.

Required Education & Qualifications4 Year Degree in Electrical Engineering or suitable STEM major.

Project management experience preferred.

Manufacturing experience preferred.

Strong understanding of electrical systems.

Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions in a timely manner.

Hands-on aptitude required.

Experience drafting reports and organizing data.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Ability to analyze and interpret technical information, including technical drawings.

Must be capable of learning ladder logic.
