- Operate machines that fabricate parts and possess knowledge of various manufacturing machines, process operations, and product .
- Reviews specifications by reading process standards to determine machine adjustments and material requirements; determines accuracy of machine operations by measuring workpiece dimensions; observes machines and detects workpiece defects and machine malfunctions.
- Operates machines to meet or exceed daily production targets; activates machine through buttons; completes necessary documents promptly; reports any problems to management timely; performs any other functions to tend machines.
- Performs all quality checks during loading and unloading of cured products.
- Performs daily mold grind of assigned curing presses.
- Performs weight checks at preform machine and routinely cleans preform area to ensure quality.
- Follows "Prohibited Action" lists.
- Follows all communication procedures for STOP-CALL-WAIT for any abnormal occurrence.
- Correctly and accurately fills out 2s check sheets.
- Performs all 5s tasks during shift and at end of shift in preparation for hand off to next team.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must have two years' experience in manufacturing and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Manages time and resources by using tools provided by the company to maximize productivity and accomplish tasks on time.
- Keeps management informed by participating in meetings; and by reporting problems to management verbally or in writing to avoid confusion and further problems.
- Upholds standards of quality, cost, and safety by following the company's standards and guidelines for maintaining quality, cost, and safety; takes initiative; reports conditions that do not uphold standards; wears proper PPE; suggests improvements as necessary.
- Contributes to team effort by consistently achieving individual goals to support departmental and company goals; is flexible in work assignments; covers for other staff as needed; accomplishes related tasks when requested; is open to feedback and uses it to improve performance.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attaining job-related certification; seeks out job-related training to improve personal skills and efficiency; applies knowledge to the job.
- Upholds professionalism in the workplace by maintaining professional conduct and appearance; realizes limitations and seeks assistance when needed; uses established communication channels.
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk in office or field duties.
- Full range of motion to see, hear, touch, and observe documents at office or materials in the field.
- Ordinary vision and hearing for communication and observation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to effectively respond to questions in English.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics, including minimum, maximum, average, and other principles.
- Ability to apply knowledge and sense of understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Must be tactful, mature, flexible, and able to successfully respond to multiple work pressures.
- Understand and practice basic manufacturing fundamentals of NAMI, including 3S check system, 5S, Control-By-Looking, poka-yoke, safety, company policy, and quality policy.
- Skilled with knowledge of many different manufacturing machines, process operations, and product .
- Able to identify possible safety problems and report accordingly.
- Experience preferred in operation of at least one machine in the following grades:
Grade 4, Grade 5 or equivalent manufacturing experience.
