Position Summary

Title: Manufacturing Latter Process Utility Operator

Reports To: Manufacturing Latter Senior Supervisor

Department: Manufacturing

Status: Non-Exempt A/B Shifts

Essential Responsibility

This position is responsible for operating machines that fabricate parts. This position also possesses knowledge of various manufacturing machines, process operations and product I.D. for CL/TL and AA/AL.

Key Tasks / Primary Responsibilities
  • Reviews Specifications by reading process standards to determine machine adjustments and material requirements; determines the accuracy of machine operations by measuring work piece dimensions; observes machines and detects work piece defects and machine malfunctions; handles Scrap/Rework products properly.
  • Operates Machines by meeting or exceeding daily production targets; activates the machine through buttons; completes all necessary documents in a clear and timely manner; reports any problems with machines to Management promptly; performs any other functions to tend to machines.
  • Operates machine and covers breakout as assigned from Supervisor on a daily basis; has required knowledge of changeover process for multiple machines.
  • Properly manages Startup and Completion for Lot management.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • At least two years experience in manufacturing and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Keeps Management Informed by participating in meetings and reporting problems verbally or in writing to avoid confusion.

Physical Demands / Work Environment
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk in office or field duties.

  • Ordinary vision and hearing for communication and observation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics, including minimum, maximum, average, and other principles.

  • Must be tactful, mature, flexible, and respond successfully to multiple work pressures.
  • Understand and practice basic manufacturing fundamentals including NAMI, 3S check system, 5S, Control-By-Looking, poka-yoke, safety, company policy, and quality policy.
  • Skilled with knowledge of many different manufacturing machines, process operations, and product I.D.
  • Identify possible safety problems and report accordingly.
  • Experience preferred in operating at least one machine in Grades 4 or 5 or equivalent manufacturing experience.
