Chief Engineer; Assistance

This hybrid on‑site role focuses on managing and monitoring critical infrastructure and systems in a data center. The position will be based in Covington, GA (outside of Atlanta) with relocation assistance offered.

• Operations Leadership & Monitoring
  • Serve as the senior technical resource during assigned shifts
  • Monitor and manage electrical, mechanical, and environmental systems
  • Lead response to alarms, events, and abnormal conditions
  • Conduct detailed facility walkthroughs and validate system performance
  • Lead shift turnovers and status communications
• Electrical & Mechanical Systems Execution
  • Operate and maintain UPS, generators, switch gear, ATS/STS, PDUs, and RPPs
  • Operate and support chillers, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps, and valves
  • Execute system switching, load transfers, and isolations per approved procedures
  • Identify system deficiencies and single points of failure
• Maintenance & Change Management
  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Review, validate, and execute MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs
  • Participate in change management and risk assessments
  • Oversee vendor activities and verify post‑maintenance restoration
• Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Enforce LOTO, electrical safety, arc‑flash, and PPE requirements
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain and review operational logs and maintenance records
  • Contribute to procedures and technical documentation
• Training, Mentorship & Development
  • Mentor junior technicians and new hires
  • Support qualification programs and skill assessments

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in data center or mission‑critical operations
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability to read one‑line diagrams and OEM documentation

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field
• Industry or OEM certifications
• Experience with BMS, EPMS, DCIM, and CMMS platforms
• Prior leadership or acting‑lead experience

$70 – $72.50 an hour
