The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing care under supervision, working with patients from birth through all life stages. They utilize the nursing process while adhering to organizational policies and demonstrating professionalism, growth, and accountability. The LPN collaborates with healthcare team members, guides ancillary staff, and offers compassionate, technologically competent, holistic patient care.
Qualifications include a graduate of an LPN program, with new graduates eligible to apply. A current Georgia LPN or NLC/eNLC multistate license and BLS certification are required. Preferred qualifications include clinical competency in the specialty area and hospital experience. For emergency department roles, ALS/ACLS and PALS certifications are necessary within specified time frames. New specialty nurses will complete required certifications within six months of employment.
Experienced emergency nurses have six months to obtain PALS certification.
