TRC is looking for an Internal Auditor for one of our Aerospace and Aviation clients based out of Covington, GA! This client is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. They are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers for 60 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph while producing minimal noise.

The opportunity
The Internal Auditor plays a vital role in upholding safety, quality, and regulatory compliance as the company advances its groundbreaking eVTOL aircraft, Midnight. Acting independently and objectively, this role is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, processes, and management systems across all areas of operations, including design, engineering, manufacturing, flight testing, certification, supply chain, and commercial.
What you’ll do- Develop, maintain, and execute the annual internal audit schedule based
- Report audit findings to audit committees and senior management.
- Assign RCCA for internal audit findings and ensure timely closure.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams on RCCA using 8D Methodology.
- Evaluate effectiveness of Quality Management System (QMS) processes and documentation.
- Support FAA and regulatory body external audits and inspections.
- Monitor and track corrective action effectiveness and verify closure evidence.
- Identify systemic trends and opportunities for process improvement.
- Maintain audit records and documentation in compliance with AS9100D and regulatory requirements.
- 3–5 years of internal audit experience in aerospace, aviation, or manufacturing environments.
- ISO 9001:2015 Certified Internal Auditor (required).
- Strong working knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
- Proficiency in audit management software and documentation systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings to senior leadership.
- Strong understanding of quality management system principles.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Experience in a startup or early-stage aerospace environment.
- FAA 14 CFR 21.137 Quality Management System.
- Familiarity with airworthiness requirements and type certification (TC).
