Senior Hvac Technician

ACS Air Conditioning Specialist Inc seeks a Senior HVAC Technician to lead residential and light commercial service, repair, and installations across Middle Georgia. In this customer-focused, family-style team, you'll diagnose complex heating and cooling issues, perform high-quality maintenance, guide junior techs, and provide honest recommendations to homeowners and small businesses. Collaborate with sales and office staff, ensure code compliance, and uphold our standards of integrity, reliability, and professionalism while growing your technical and leadership skills in a stable, long-term role.

Responsibilities

• Lead diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of residential and light commercial HVAC systems
• Perform high-quality installation of HVAC equipment and related components
• Troubleshoot complex system issues, controls, and airflow problems
• Provide honest, customer-focused recommendations and explain repair options
• Mentor and support junior technicians in field best practices and safety
• Ensure all work complies with local codes, manufacturer specs, and company standards
• Complete accurate service reports, documentation, and part usage records
• Collaborate with dispatch, sales, and office staff for scheduling and follow-up
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency service requests
• Maintain a clean, organized work area, company vehicle, and inventory

Required Skills

• Advanced HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Residential split systems and heat pumps
• Light commercial rooftop units (RTUs)
• Refrigeration cycle and superheat/subcooling measurement
• Electrical and low-voltage controls for HVACAirflow balancing and ductwork basics
• Brazing, soldering, and piping for HVAC systems
• Use of HVAC gauges, meters, and digital tools
• Reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Customer service and technical communication
• EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling
