Location:

Covington, GA 30014

Payrate: $19/hr on W2

Duration: 12 months (possible extension / FTE)

Workdays/hours:
Mon - Thurs 8pm - 6:30am

Standard Hours Per Week: 40.00

Technical Skills

Must Have

  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment (MHE) such as:
    • Electric pallet jacks
    • Forklifts / high-reach trucks (or ability to become certified)
  • Basic computer skills (data entry, scanning systems, manifests)
Job Summary

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate movement of products within the distribution center.

Job Responsibilities
  • Transport palletized product within the distribution center (unload, put away double deep, bulk and full pallet pick, load, replenishment)
  • Operate material handling equipment, including high reach, counterbalance, electric pallet jack, and dock stocker.
  • Use RF Scanner and WMS to ensure inventory accuracy and track products throughout the site.
  • Ensure product integrity while performing all tasks.
  • Follow site safety procedures, including required PPE (safety vest, safety shoes).
  • Cross train and become knowledgeable in other areas. Provide backup support when required.
Education and Experience

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred.

Experience:

  • 1+ year of relevant experience required, Intermediate experience with either a high reach or counterbalance required.
  • Experience with Manhattan WMS, preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to obtain a forklift certification within 2 days of employment.
  • Ability to read and interpret distribution documents in English.
  • Ability to operate MHE and use an RF scanner.
  • Basic analytical, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • General distribution knowledge.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong initiative and drive for results.
Physical Requirements

While performing this job, the associate is regularly exposed to:

  • Walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, and crouching
  • Reaching, pushing/pulling, grasping, twisting, and lifting
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, pick, or type, including repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, or fingers
  • Occasional climbing
  • Lifting over 50 lbs. may be required in some areas, but not all
Vision & Hearing Requirements
  • Normal field of vision, corrected to 20/40 in each eye
  • Hearing sufficient to safely operate MHE (Material Handling Equipment) in a manufacturing/distribution environment
Work Environment
  • Noise level may range from moderate to loud
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical equipment
  • Exposure to potentially precarious situations
  • Occasional exposure to fumes and/or airborne particles
  • The position may require a mandatory medical evaluation in compliance with applicable occupational health and safety laws.
