Accounting Specialist

LHH is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support the daily execution of core accounting and finance operations in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accuracy and compliance across order processing, expense review, and transactional accounting activities. This hands-on position provides strong exposure to foundational accounting functions and offers growth potential within finance. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $23 and $29/hr.

Responsibilities:

* Review and validate sales orders for accuracy, including pricing, customer terms, and required internal approvals prior to processing

* Review employee expense reports for policy compliance, proper documentation, and accurate general ledger coding

* Maintain and update financial master data, including customers, vendors, items, and pricing within the ERP system

* Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice entry, payment processing, and monitoring outstanding balances

* Manage shared accounting inboxes, respond to inquiries, and route requests to appropriate team members

* Assist with vendor onboarding, including collecting required documentation and supporting approval workflows and banking setup

* Process vendor invoices through system queues, ensuring timely and accurate entry

* Support ongoing improvements to accounting workflows, including system enhancements and automation initiatives

* Follow established accounting procedures, controls, and checklists to ensure consistency and compliance

* Identify and resolve discrepancies, data entry errors, and inconsistencies across financial systems

Qualifications:

* Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field

* 2-3 years of experience in accounting support, order processing, or transactional finance roles

* Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments

* Advanced Excel skills; experience with reporting tools or dashboards preferred

* Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance
