We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee industrial coating projects from initial assessment through closeout. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys being hands‑on in the field, and excels at managing teams, clients, and complex project requirements.

Position Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering industrial coating projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients and will play a key role in maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring repeat business, and upholding Tank Services’ reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities Project Management
  • Manage all phases of industrial coating projects—from estimating and quoting through completion and closeout.
  • Develop work plans, assign labor, and coordinate site mobilization, daily operations, and material deliveries.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and production goals; implement corrective actions to prevent overruns.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA requirements, and company procedures.
Client & Vendor Relations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Provide regular project updates, manage change requests, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to promote repeat business.
Field Leadership
  • Supervise field crews to ensure efficient, safe, and high‑quality operations.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors to resolve field issues quickly.
  • Conduct quality inspections and enforce company standards.
  • Mentor and train field staff in proper surface preparation, coating application, and safety practices.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare project documentation, daily reports, progress updates, and closeout packages.
  • Support accurate cost reporting, forecasting, and identification of financial risks.
  • Maintain required quality assurance records for customers and internal use.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience as a project manager with a large industrial coating or corrosion‑control firm.
  • Minimum 5 years of estimating/quoting industrial coating projects.
  • u201cNACE/AMPP CIP Level 1 or Level 2u201d certification required.
  • Hands‑on experience with abrasive blasting and applying protective coating systems.
  • Experience in a quality assurance role, including documentation and inspection practices.
  • Strong familiarity with NACE/AMPP standards
    , surface preparation requirements, and coating systems.
  • Proven ability to manage crews safely, productively, and profitably.
Desired Skills & Attributes
  • Strong ability to estimate and quote projects accurately.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
  • Leadership ability with a track record of mentoring and developing field staff.
  • Commitment to safety and advocacy for company safety programs.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required.
