Vice President, Strategy & Corporate Development About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading global insurance organization, is seeking a Vice President of Strategy & Corporate Development to serve as a strategic advisor and execution partner supporting the Office of the CEO. This highly visible role will drive enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, evaluate corporate development opportunities, and help shape long‑term business strategy while partnering closely with executive leadership. This is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic leader with experience in corporate strategy, corporate development, management consulting, or investment banking who enjoys solving complex business challenges and influencing executive decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership

Lead the execution of enterprise‑level strategic initiatives sponsored by executive leadership, ensuring key milestones, risks, and dependencies are proactively managed.

Partner with senior executives to prioritize strategic initiatives, synthesize complex business issues, and develop recommendations for executive decision‑making.

Prepare materials and analyses for Executive Leadership Team and Board meetings, ensuring presentations are data‑driven, strategic, and actionable.

Corporate Development & Strategic Analysis

Evaluate acquisitions, divestitures, strategic investments, and other corporate development opportunities.

Lead strategic analyses, financial assessments, market research, and competitive intelligence to support long‑term growth initiatives.

Drive strategic planning efforts and support the development of enterprise‑wide corporate strategy.

Enterprise Strategy & Cross‑Functional Leadership

Coordinate cross‑functional initiatives across business units to ensure alignment with executive priorities.

Monitor strategic initiatives, track action items, and drive accountability across leadership teams.

Lead governance processes including strategic planning cycles, quarterly business reviews, and executive operating rhythms.

Executive Communications

Partner with Communications, Marketing, and Investor Relations to ensure executive messaging aligns with overall corporate strategy.

Prepare executive briefing materials for internal and external meetings, investor engagements, and Board presentations.

Provide leadership and guidance to members of the executive office while fostering collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Experience in a senior‑level strategy, corporate development, consulting, investment banking, or executive advisory role.
  • Outstanding strategic thinking and structured problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate complex issues into clear recommendations.
  • Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including valuation, financial modeling, and strategic analysis.
  • Proven leadership and project management experience leading cross‑functional initiatives across large organizations.
  • Deep understanding of the Commercial Property & Casualty insurance industry, including business models, financial drivers, and competitive dynamics, or the ability to quickly develop expertise in a similarly complex industry.
  • Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills, with experience developing Board‑ and C‑suite‑level materials.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and build alignment across multiple business functions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high‑priority initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
  • High degree of professionalism, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and executive presence.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring teams and driving a culture of excellence and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with a top‑tier management consulting firm or investment bank.
  • Prior experience in corporate strategy, corporate development, or enterprise transformation.
  • Experience with in the Commercial Property & Casualty insurance industry.
  • MBA or other advanced business degree preferred.
