Statehouse Politics Intern
is seeking a spring semester intern to join our Statehouse reporting team. This position offers a front‑row seat to Ohio politics and policy, with opportunities to learn the craft of political journalism in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities- Attend legislative committee meetings, press conferences, and floor sessions at the Statehouse, taking notes and tracking policy debates in real time.
- Work closely with a senior reporter while also identifying and following your own story ideas.
- Spend at least two days per week downtown at the Statehouse; reliable transportation is required.
- Integrate artificial intelligence tools into your reporting workflow as part of our newsroom practices.
- Strong interest in politics, government, and public policy.
- Solid writing, research, and organizational skills.
- Curiosity, initiative, ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
40‑hour a week internship; paid at $15.00/hr.
