This position is based in the College of Pharmacy and reports to the Senior Director of Development & Alumni Relations. The Assistant Director will develop and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects—including individuals, corporations, industry partners, and private foundations—in support of the college’s priorities. The role requires meeting or exceeding pre‑set metrics such as meetings with prospects, major‑gift solicitations (≥ $50,000), and overall dollars raised.

The Assistant Director will prepare proposals, presentations, and other fundraising materials, and maintain a strategic plan in the GAIL database.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of professional experience.

• Demonstrated history of raising philanthropic gifts.

• Develop and manage a portfolio of major‑gift prospects.
• Maintain documented strategic plans in GAIL for all prospects.
• Participate in prospect‑management meetings within the college and with the Office of Development & Alumni Relations.
• Collaborate with college units and campus partners to engage prospects.
• Work with academic departments, faculty, and programs to guide them through the philanthropic process.
• Prepare timely, accurate, and relevant proposals, presentations, and fundraising materials.
• Manage telephone calls, correspondence, and follow‑ups with prospects.
• Manage a pre‑allocated travel budget and schedule trips strategically.
• Attend college events such as the White Coat Ceremony, Pinning Ceremony, Commencement, Homecoming, and relevant professional meetings.

• Work in a standard office environment.
• Travel in and out of state.
• Driving is required for job duties.
• Work nights and weekends as necessary.
• Use electronic mail, telephone, face‑to‑face discussion, and paper correspondence.
• Communicate effectively in writing, speaking, and listening.
• Organize and prioritize tasks, multitask, and note details.
• Lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
