POSITION SUMMARY
This position works with the City of Twinsburg’s summer camps. This is a seasonal, non-union position. This position works 40 hours per week.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Oversees daily activities of camp leaders and campers, prioritizes safety and creates a fun engaging environment for campers.
- Assists Activities Coordinator with hiring and training of camp leader staff.
- Assists in training, scheduling, and monitoring performance of seasonal camp leader staff.
- Plans a wide variety of activities including games, crafts, contests, field trips and outdoor fun.
- Interacts with attendees to encourage proper use of all facilities and park areas.
- Monitors behavior of camp leaders and campers to make sure all are having a safe and enjoyable time.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills required.
- Previous summer camp experience is a plus.
- Must maintain a professional, helpful attitude at all times.
- CPR/First Aid certified on the first day of work. We will provide this training in advance if needed.
- Must have sufficient sight and hearing ability with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to discern verbal instructions, communicate emergency signals, and to communicate with other employees and the general public.
- Must be outside and present at camp the majority of the day unless instructed otherwise by the Activities Coordinator.
- Regular, punctual in-person attendance.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Ability to maintain a safe, positive, inclusive environment.
- Must be able to respond quickly and perform life saving measures in emergency situations.
- Strong decision-making, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interact and be courteous to fellow employees and participants of diverse backgrounds.
- Must attend required trainings.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.
