Description:

The Superintendent provides leadership on the jobsite, coordinates subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and foremen of a specific construction project. The Superintendent is responsible for the onsite management of a project, maintaining the project schedule and managing the jobsite workforce to ensure an orderly flow of work, sequence of operation, and quality.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of five (5) years of commercial building construction experience required.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of general construction and subcontract documents, drawings and specifications, construction means, methods and materials.
  • Knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting procedures.
  • Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite programs.
  • Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ground-up retail construction experience preferred.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Uphold and represent company values and ethics. Maintain integrity and loyalty toward the Company and client.
  • Hold weekly coordination meetings with subcontractor foremen/project managers to outline work completion requirements and issues such as manpower, schedule, sequence of work, and inspections.
  • Implement, monitor, and drive the project schedule. Notify management of schedule and performance issues; proactively address potential problems affecting cost and schedule.
  • Provide daily reports using company software, including photos, manpower, activities performed, delays, JHAs, material deliveries, and weather conditions.
  • Provide weekly report and four-week look-ahead schedule to project management by end of Thursday.
  • Maintain on-site project files for scopes of work, submittals, RFIs, bulletins, drawings logs, sketches, inspections, permits, and as-built drawings.
  • Manage the Company Safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance with jobsite safety requirements; maintain a clean jobsite.
  • Initiate RFIs to project manager addressing interpretation of plans and specifications, missing information, incorrect details, or incomplete information requiring direction from Architect/Engineer.
  • Coordinate and schedule inspections with local officials having jurisdiction over the project.
  • Ensure quality control in monitoring the work and its adherence to construction documents and project requirements.
  • Maintain cooperative relationships with project management, subcontractors, vendors, architect/engineer, local officials and client.
  • Perform material inventory/audit of all company, subcontractor, and owner-supplied materials.
  • Coordinate with project management and subcontractors to manage utility relocations or new services as required for the project.
  • Identify and rectify potential punch list items; hold subcontractors accountable for timely completion.

  • Solve problems by making quick, accurate decisions and taking responsibility for those decisions.
  • Understand responsibilities and duties; hold yourself and subcontractors accountable daily.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Ensure job processes follow company policy and procedures.
  • Forecast and communicate schedule conflicts that may impact project completion.
Salary
  • Our compensation is based on Total Package Value: competitive salaries, vehicle and phone allowances, lodging and per diem, health benefits, paid vacations/holidays, and a 401K package with percentage match.

We provide the ability to go home every other weekend on the company's dime.

Travel Involved

Must be able to travel FULL TIME (we are licensed in 48 states).
