Journalist Adjunct Faculty – WPU
The Department of Communication invites adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate courses in our growing journalism program. Candidates should hold a master’s degree (M.A., M.F.A., or M.B.A.) or equivalent professional experience, and have prior professional experience in journalism. Prior teaching experience is a plus.
Areas of Expertise- News reporting
- News writing
- Feature writing
- Social/digital media management
- Audio and television production
Candidates should be well‑versed in the intersections of these areas and demonstrate a passion for journalism, an understanding of the evolving news media landscape, and a dedication to helping students achieve in an increasingly complex and competitive professional environment. They must commit to teaching diverse populations.

Course sections may be scheduled during the day, night, or weekends, online, or on campus.
CompensationAdjuncts are paid per credit hour:
- New employees – $2,100 per credit
- Employees with 13+ semesters at WP – $2,175 per credit
This position may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health and dental insurance and retirement plans.
