Athletics Parking Operations Intern
The Athletics Parking Operations Coordinator Intern supports daily and event-related parking operations for the Athletics facilities, with a primary focus on the Butts‑Mehre Heritage Hall parking lots and assigned sporting events. This internship provides hands‑on experience in event operations, logistics, customer service, and inter‑departmental coordination within a Division I athletics environment.
This is a 12‑month part‑time appointment, scheduled to begin on 06/01/2026.
Responsibilities Daily Parking Operations- Assist with the daily management of the Butts‑Mehre Heritage Hall parking lots, including monitoring usage, enforcing parking policies, and identifying operational issues.
- Coordinate access for Athletics staff, student‑athletes, recruits, donors, and approved visitors.
- Serve as a point of contact for parking‑related questions, concerns, and issue resolution at Butts‑Mehre.
- Track lot usage trends and assist with documentation and reporting as needed.
- Collaborate with campus transportation, facilities, and public safety partners to ensure consistent parking operations.
- Assist with parking operations for assigned athletic events, including pre‑event planning, staff deployment, and post‑event breakdown.
- Support setup and removal of event signage, barricades, cones, and credential checkpoints.
- Assist with training and supervising temporary event staff, student workers, and volunteers.
- Serve in an on‑site operational role during events, helping to manage traffic flow and customer service needs.
- Respond to real‑time challenges during events, escalating issues appropriately.
- Assist with the development of parking plans for athletic events and special uses.
- Support credential distribution, access control lists, and event communications.
- Maintain inventory of parking equipment and supplies.
- Participate in post‑event evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Support additional athletics operations or special events as assigned.
