Chief Architect

Under administrative direction, performs architectural services required in the construction, alteration, and addition to buildings. Plans, supervises, and directs assigned personnel. Performs other job-related duties as required.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture from a National Architectureal Accreditation Board (NAAB) accredited four‑year college or university required.
• One year of full‑time paid experience as a registered Architect required.
• Must be a registered Architect in the State of Ohio.
• Valid State of Ohio Driver’s license required.
• Must have a working knowledge of AutoCAD 2‑D and Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• A working knowledge of SharePoint and project planning software as well as good written and verbal communication skills are preferred.
• Good organization skills to handle multiple projects at the same time is highly desirable.

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university required.
• Five years of full-time paid experience as a registered Architect or Engineer required.
• Experience as a Plans Examiner is preferred.
• Must be a registered Architect or Engineer and an interim or full‑fledged Plans Examiner.
• Valid State of Ohio Driver’s license required.

• A High School Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture from a National Architectural Accreditation Board (NAAB) accredited four‑year college or university is required.
• One year of full‑time paid experience as a registered Architect with ten years total within the AEC industry is required.
• A valid State of Ohio Professional License/Registration as an Architect is required.
• A valid State of Ohio driver’s license is required.
• Must have a working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Able to lead and coordinate the development of assigned projects, on behalf of the City of Cleveland, under administrative direction.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to execute architectural services required for the programming, planning, design, coordination, and construction administration of capital projects either designed in‑house or through outside consulting architects and engineers.
• Technical skill with an eye for design excellence, sustainability, and resilient maintainability.
• Strong management of project scope and costs who is a well‑rounded and versatile professional.
• Able to work well within a collaborative and multi‑disciplinary professional environment (architecture, engineering, and landscape architecture) that is able to assist stakeholders with navigating construction projects with calm leadership, and strong interpersonal communications skills.
