Job Overview

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Cincinnati is seeking applicants for at least five Visiting Assistant Professorships to teach undergraduate mathematics courses. The department has graduate programs offering both MS and PhD degrees in mathematics and statistics and is dedicated to excellence in research and teaching. Appointments will begin on August 15, 2026, for an initial one‑year term with the possibility of renewal for a second year.

• The teaching load will nominally be 12‑15 credit hours distributed over the Fall and Spring semesters and may include 3, 4 or 5 credit hour courses such as Applied Calculus, Calculus I, and Calculus II.
• There may be opportunities to conduct research, with priority given to candidates whose interests align with the current faculty’s work in analysis, applied mathematics, or probability.

PhD in mathematics or a related field required prior to the effective date of appointment.
