The mission of the Future Self Center (FSC) is to build student confidence and provide hope for future success in education, career readiness, and life as a whole.

Future Self Center is an alternative education program for students who are struggling to follow school norms in a traditional setting. We develop strong relationships with students through our restorative model and build engagement through individualized learning plans, student voice and choice, and hands‑on learning. Our goal is to provide multiple pathways to spark interest as we help students understand their passions, future career interests, and a deeper sense of self overall.

We partner with home districts to ensure students make significant progress academically, behaviorally and emotionally. The ultimate goal is for students to re‑enter their school setting with new attitudes, coping strategies and a chosen path toward their future self.

What Makes This Program Special
  • Individualized learning plans, targeted academic support, and focus on personal interests.
  • 4 dedicated Maker Spaces that focus on design thinking and hands‑on learning, including a fully equipped STEM lab, music studio, digital design studio, and sensory‑based art area.
  • Use of career‑readiness tools
, interest inventories, and tangible skill development.
  • High school credit options including credit recovery.
  • Frequent field work and community engagement.
  • Targeted family engagement and frequent home‑school connections.
  • Industry credential options.

The schedule for the FSC starts in September and runs through four weeks in the summer because of our Summer Camp offerings.

To apply, submit your application, letter of interest, and resume online sc.org.
