The Western Buckeye Educational Service Center is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Special Education/Student Services Director to provide leadership and coordination of appropriate services for student populations primarily in Van Wert County with additional possibilities within Paulding County.

The successful candidate will ensure school district compliance with local, state, and federal mandates, including the Operating Standards for Ohio Schools, ADA, and Section 504, and coordinate all student programs and related services for students with disabilities. The Director will be responsible for all necessary data collection, record keeping, and reporting to state and federal agencies, assign, supervise, evaluate, and make employment recommendations for all student services staff.

Additionally the SPED/Student Services Director will plan and conduct appropriate professional development, create and maintain positive relationships and timely communications with students, parents, staff, and the community.

• Valid Ohio Administrative license.
• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Successful experience as an Intervention Specialist and/or School Administrator.
• Knowledge of Ohio School and Special Education Law.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to present information to individuals, small groups, and large groups in a clear and compelling manner.
• Ability to work successfully with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and the community.
