Athletic Academic Mentor - Non-Student

Position Summary:

Assist student‑athletes in academic endeavors by providing supplemental support. This part‑time position requires mentors to meet weekly during scheduled sessions to foster academic independence and encourage self‑regulated learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual & small group tutoring to student‑athletes in assigned subjects within the scope of UGA, SEC, and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Assist students in improving academic achievement during weekly meetings that clarify concepts, enhance study skills, and review class materials.
  • File reports on sessions & follow all departmental policies.
  • Attend mandatory trainings.
  • Communicate with student support staff team members.
Eligibility & Requirements
  • Must meet NCAA rules prohibiting employment at a high school or coaching a high school team (including spouses).
  • Must be available to meet weekly 1‑hour sessions at agreed times.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently and manage multiple students.
Compensation

Pay is $15.00 per 1‑hour mentor session.

Work schedule:

0.375 FTE (approximately 1 hour per week).
