Youth Development Professional plans, leads, and evaluates programs and activities that support youth in the areas of academic success, healthy lifestyles, good character, and citizenship. This role helps create a safe, positive, and engaging environment where children and teens can learn, grow, and thrive.

• Create a welcoming and supportive environment for youth.
• Supervise and engage children and teens during programs and activities.
• Encourage participation and assist with member registration and orientation.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and positive role modeling.
• Assist with planning and implementing educational, recreational, and leadership programs.
• Monitor program quality and ensure member safety at all times.
• Assist with special events, outreach efforts, and branch activities.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe program spaces.
• Report facility or equipment maintenance needs.
• Follow and uphold all Salvation Army policies and procedures.
• Support the mission and ministry of The Salvation Army.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with children and youth preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well with children, families, volunteers, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365.
• Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record preferred.
• Willingness to participate in required professional development and training programs.

This position works in both indoor and outdoor recreational settings and may require standing, walking, supervising activities, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
