Student Pastor Position
Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, a Missionary Baptist church in Fulton, MS, is prayerfully seeking a Student Pastor to lead, disciple, and invest in the lives of our students (7th grade through college), while also supporting our children's ministry.
This is a pastoral role. We are seeking a man who meets the Biblical qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1‑7 – a man of proven character, spiritual maturity, and leadership within his home and church.
Spiritual Qualifications- A 1 Timothy 3 man who models Biblical leadership in both professional and family life
- A God‑called man into the Gospel ministry, with a clear and public testimony of that calling
- Gifted and called to ministry, with a passion for preaching, teaching, and discipleship
- A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to God's Word
- A heart for reaching the lost and discipling the next generation
- Strong background in a Baptist church, which aligns with our doctrine
- A clear love for and desire to work with young people, from Pre‑K through college
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively relate to both students and parents
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to organize, motivate, and equip volunteers
- Experience in youth ministry is preferred
- A degree in Theology or a ministry‑related field is preferred, but not required
- Tech‑savvy and able to communicate effectively through social media and digital platforms
- A team player with a servant's heart
- Lead and teach weekly student ministry gatherings
- Plan and coordinate events such as camps, retreats, mission trips, and Disciple Now weekends
- Disciple students and partner with parents to support their spiritual growth
- Oversee and support children's ministry volunteers (6th grade and under)
- Assist with AWANA, Vacation Bible School and Children's Church
- Provide encouragement and biblical counseling as needed,
- Network with other student pastors for community outreach and student events
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Pastor and Church Leadership on ministry vision, projects, and church‑wide needs
- Participate in the overall pastoral ministry of the church
- Be willing to preach and fill the pulpit as needed
- Ability to work within a ministry budget
- Willingness to build strong relationships within the church and community
- Musical ability is a plus, but not required
