• Meets and instructs assigned classes at the designated locations and times.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity and interests.
• Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
• Guides the learning process through the establishment of curriculum goals and develops clear objectives to meet those goals.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with location limitations and student needs.
• Strives to implement district philosophy of education and instructional goals by instruction and action.
• Assesses student accomplishments regularly and provides progress reports, including to parents as required.
• Implements reading and math management systems, individual education plans, and course curriculum outlines when appropriate.
• Takes all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records and preserves confidentiality as required by law, district policy, and regulations.
• Assists administration in implementing policies and rules governing student conduct for classroom and school-related activities per Student Code of Conduct.
• Provides availability to students and parents for education-related purposes outside instructional day.
• Plans and supervises assignments for teacher aides and volunteers; evaluates their performance cooperatively with department heads or instructional and guidance facilitators.
• Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Assesses learning needs regularly, seeking assistance of district specialists as required.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on committees as required.
• Maintains professional awareness of current literature related to assignment, including knowledge of state and federal law, Board policy, and regulations.
• Performs related duties as assigned by administrator or superintendent.
