Days determined by the school calendar of the district you are assigned. Days worked are days paid, typically 180 days and 6 hours per day or as assigned by the Putnam County ESC Superintendent.
SALARY: Starting rate is $18.60 per hour through Dedicated School Staffing. Enrollment in the School Employees Retirement System is included with this position.

The Putnam County Educational Service Center provides educational opportunities to nine rural school districts in Ohio. These districts include Columbus Grove, Continental, Ft. Jennings, Kalida, Leipsic, Miller City-New Cleveland, Ottawa-Glandorf, Ottoville, and Pandora-Gilboa. In addition, The Putnam County ESC has both school age and preschool age classrooms within the nine school districts providing services to children with special needs and their families.
Job Requirements- Experience and/or desire to work with children with special needs and disabilities preferred.
- Assist in classroom preparations under the guidance of teacher and/or supervisor with daily educational instruction and skills according to individual student needs, including operation of personal assistive devices (iPads, communication devices).
- Physical ability to assist with needs of student such as lifting or carrying in excess of 50 lbs., including wheelchair transfers.
- Provide close supervision of students while allowing students to seek independence with reasonable precautions to ensure student safety.
- Candidate should have motivation to work with students who have academic, social and behavioral needs.
- Meet the qualifications as defined in the Ohio Operating Standards for Education of Children with Disabilities and policies of the Local, State, and Federal government.
- Responsible for obtaining and maintaining Educational Aide Permit, pass criminal background checks, and willing to take trainings as required to meet the needs of the students such as First Aid and CPR.
