Adult Education Dental Assisting Instructor
Qualifications- Valid state department of education license/certificate as determined at the time of appointment.
- Adheres to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.
- Anticipates time constraints; manages tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Communicates effectively; interprets information accurately and initiates effective responses.
- Complies with drug‑free workplace rules, board policies, and administrative guidelines/procedures.
- Embodies high ethical standards and integrity; accepts responsibility for decisions and conduct.
- Exhibits consistency, resourcefulness, and resilience.
- Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
- Meets all mandated health screening requirements.
- Identify prerequisite employment skills and profiles essential training characteristics. Assist with program planning and curriculum development. Develop course syllabus.
- Ensure program compliance to maintain accreditations/charters.
- Recommend class schedules based on enrollment demand and equipment/classroom availability.
- Collaborate with public/private entities; seek opportunities for joint training ventures. Coordinate arrangements with employers to provide on‑site training opportunities with externships or internships.
- Communicate program objectives/performance expectations to students.
- Maintain thorough understanding of subject matter and pedagogy. Organize subject content and learning goals. Prepare instructional materials. Arrange classroom for instruction.
- Evaluate academic needs of students. Develop effective educational experiences that engage and stimulate learning. Vary instructional techniques to address student learning styles.
- Contribute to an effective and positive work/learning environment.
- Develop mutually respectful relationships with co‑workers. Function as part of a cohesive team.
- Follow district and department Employee Codes of Conduct.
- Encourage continuous advancement of academic standards.
- Help students understand and embrace ethical conduct and democratic values.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
Contract: SY one‑year limited contract, salary per the Adult Education Salary Schedule, weekly hours per the Adult Education Director, not to exceed 29, no benefits, no holidays.
