Kentucky Certification for School Superintendent
RESPONSIBLE TO:
Superintendent of Schools
SUPERVISES:
Directors of Special Education, Psychological Services,
Community and Family Engagement, FRYSCS, Nutrition Services,
Health Services, Community Relations and others assigned by the Superintendent
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee district Student Support Services to reduce barriers to learning and promote student academic achievement and personal growth.
- Directly supervise and evaluate the directors of programs listed above.
- Work with building principals to ensure effective/efficient operation of Student Support Services within their schools.
- Oversee the Response to Intervention-Behavior process, ensuring that tiers are effectively established and implemented across the district.
- Work closely with community stakeholders to ensure that partnerships are established to support student success.
- Develop and deliver professional development sessions for teachers, school staff, and community partners regarding classroom management, working with students from poverty, and related topics.
- Review data collected from various programs to determine program impact and assist with planning for improvement.
- Analyze student survey data to review trends and identify programming and service needs.
- Work with local health care agency to support school-based dental and medical services for students.
- Work with local mental health agency to provide school-based mental health services for students and families.
- To provide leadership and coordination of district student support services in order to reduce barriers to learning, support academic achievement, and promote personal growth.
