Position

Teacher – Interventionist - Reading (Grades K‑5)

This position is for the 2026‑2027 school year.

Qualifications
  • Hold a bachelor's degree and the required Kentucky certification for the assigned position.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with students.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty.
  • Preferred: 5 years of teaching experience.

Performance Responsibilities
  • Meet and instruct assigned classes and groups in the location(s) at the times designated.
  • Plan interventions that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
  • Collect, enter, and analyze data regularly and on time to ensure students' progress and make changes to each student's plan promptly.
  • Conduct interventions for students in both reading and math.
  • Assist teachers in testing and data entry as needed per their immediate supervisor's direction.
  • Train and coach teachers in implementing interventions, assessing students, and any other programs specified by the immediate supervisor to ensure fidelity of implementation in the school.
  • Prepare for and conduct RTI meetings in reading and math per immediate supervisor's direction.
  • Create, monitor, enter, and analyze data regularly for the team to make real‑time decisions regarding student progress.
  • Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  • Strive to implement the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives through instruction and action.
  • Assess students' accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports, including reports to parents as required, and implement the reading and math management systems.
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records and their confidentiality as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
  • Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student conduct for the classroom and school-related activities as set forth by the Code of Acceptable Behavior and Discipline.
  • Make provision for being available to students and parents for education‑related purposes outside the instructional day.
  • Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s), cooperatively with team leads or instructional and guidance facilitators, and evaluate their job performance.
  • Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
  • Assess the learning needs of students regularly, seeking the assistance of district specialists as required.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
  • Maintain a professional awareness of current literature related to the assignment, including working knowledge of state and federal law, Board policy, and administrative regulations.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the administrator or Superintendent.
