Extension Educator – Community Development, Fayette

Position held in the FAES | Fairfield County division of Ohio State University Extension. The role is located in Fayette County, Ohio. The educator will collaborate with county, center, area, and state Extension professionals as well as local agency leaders and volunteers to provide leadership for Community Development programming.

• Provide guidance and leadership for Economic Development, Business Retention and Expansion, Leadership Development, Community Planning and Improvement, and Organizational Development (Community Development) programming.
• Utilize formal and informal community assessment methods to identify educational needs and opportunities.
• Design, implement, and teach educational programming based on identified needs to adults and/or youth.
• Convene and facilitate community coalitions focused on those needs.
• Replicate and adhere to existing programs that meet local community needs.
• Develop promotional materials and work with committees and volunteers to establish and maintain community partnerships.
• Evaluate educational programs and dissemination methods, using existing evaluation instruments to assess teaching effectiveness, program quality, and outcomes.
• Participate in discussions with county representatives regarding program funding and potentially secure external funds.
• Serve as a member of county, multi‑county, and/or state Extension teams to advance OSU Extension’s mission, vision, and values.

• Minimum:
  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 0–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Extension Educator 1:
  Bachelor’s degree; salary range $42,100 – $55,000.
• Extension Educator 2:
  Master’s degree; salary range $47,700 – $62,300.
• Extension Educator 3:
  Master’s degree and 11+ years of direct or related work experience; salary range $55,700 – $72,700.
• Roles may require successful completion of a background check and potential drug screen or physical during the post‑offer process.

• Extension Educator 1: $42,100 – $55,000
• Extension Educator 2: $47,700 – $62,300
• Extension Educator 3: $55,700 – $72,700

OSU Extension – Fayette (1519), Regular, 40hours per week, First Shift.
