Coordinator of Peer Learning Assistants

A full‑time position (FTE 1.00) in the Office of Active Learning at the University of Georgia. The Coordinator will manage the campus‑wide Peer Learning Assistant (PLA) program, coordinating recruitment, training, supervision, and integration of undergraduate Peer Learning Assistants into active learning courses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead recruitment and hiring of hundreds of Peer Learning Assistants each semester.
  • Onboard, train, and supervise Peer Learning Assistants and Lead Peer Learning Assistants.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for faculty, student, and campus partner inquiries about the PLA program.
  • Manage core program operations, including application processes, program documentation, and communication with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate faculty integration of Peer Learning Assistants, including best‑practice resources and support.
  • Maintain program records, compliance with CRLA certification and institutional policies.
  • Oversee program evaluation, data collection, and reporting to inform continuous improvement.
  • Promote the PLA program through marketing, social media, and outreach initiatives.
  • Support the development of a Co‑Curricular Learning Record framework for recognizing PLA participation.
  • Provide academic coaching, participate in departmental meetings, and represent the PLA program at university events.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience recruiting, training, and supervising student staff.
  • Strong organizational, project‑management, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of active‑learning pedagogy and student‑development theory.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with university systems, digital communication tools, and basic design or web tools.
  • Preferred experience with AI‑enabled tools for student onboarding or reflective practice.
Benefits & Working Conditions

Full‑time position, Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Compensation commensurate with experience. Eligible for standard UGA employee benefits.
