: $18.27/hr – $20.07/hr •
Critical Need Stipend
: $3.50/hr •
ECE Instructional Assistant Stipend
: $1.00/hr
Working Calendar
: 187 days / 7 hours per day (Board‑approved 2025‑2026 salary placement rules/schedules).
Exceptional Child Education (ECE) programs are designed to meet the needs of students whose learning approaches differ from peers. The district is committed to providing high‑quality education for students with disabilities. ECE programs are offered to students with a range of disabilities including moderate to severe disabilities, mild mental disabilities, other health impairments, emotional behavioral disorders, autism, visual impairment, hearing impairment, learning disabilities, and social communication disorders.
Assignments may change during the school year based on student and classroom needs, and ECE allocations are reviewed each year.
Scope of ResponsibilitiesAll responsibilities are supportive:
Assist in implementing each student’s individual education plan, help establish and maintain a pleasant, safe, and structured learning environment, and demonstrate willingness and aptitude to work with students with disabilities.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Passing score on the Kentucky Para educator Exam (KPA) or 48 college semester hours.
- Willingness and aptitude to work with students with disabilities.
- Physical ability and willingness to assist with physical needs of students such as positioning, toileting, and lifting.
- Willingness to attend district ECE in‑service for professional growth.
