The IA
- Special Education / MD provides individualized support to students with multiple disabilities, including significant medical, cognitive, and physical needs. Under the supervision of licensed educators and administrators, this role promotes student safety, dignity, and access to instruction through both instructional and physical support. The aide collaborates with teachers and support professionals to foster inclusive, functional learning environments across academic and life skill settings.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Current Educational Aide Permit from the Ohio Department of Education valid in Lakota Local Schools.
- Successful completion of applicable training (e.g., CPR/First Aid, Crisis Prevention as required).
- Prior classroom experience as an aide or paraprofessional preferred.
7 hours per day, 5 days per week and 184 days based on a school year calendar. Per current Lakota salary schedule, starting at $18.52 per hour plus a $1.50 differential per hour based on verified experience.
Applicants offered positions shall be required to submit to an FBI/BCII criminal background check.
