QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold a valid Kentucky certificate appropriate for elementary guidance.
- Have a minimum of two years of successful experience working in schools.
- Have proven ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, faculty, and administrators.
- Have experience in test administration and interpretation.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Building Principal/Assistant Superintendent Student Support
SUPERVISES: Not Applicable
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide individual and group counseling focused on student academic and behavioral success.
- Conduct classroom programs aimed at preventing drug use and violence and promoting positive mental health.
- Consult with school staff and parents regarding student progress toward academic and behavioral success.
- Maintain knowledge of school district and community resources in order to make appropriate referrals for services.
- Serve on school problem-solving committees (Teacher Assistance Teams, Student Support Teams, etc.) and Admission and Release Committee, as appropriate.
- Provide support for parent involvement initiatives at the school.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- To promote student academic and behavioral success by providing counseling, conducting prevention programs, consulting with school staff and parents and making referrals to appropriate school district and community services.
CONTRACT: 195 Days
SALARY: Based on rank and experience plus 1.15 index
