Instructional Assistant (5 Year Old) - Wheeler Elementary ) - Start Time 7:30am

Under the direction of the supervising teacher or Principal, the instructional assistant participates as an integral member of the instructional program, including tutoring students, assisting in documentation of pupil progress, preparation, and organization of materials and equipment.

Salary: $22.65/hr - $24.85/hr schedule: 187 Days / 6.5 Hours.

• High school diploma or GED
• Passing score on the Kentucky Para-educator Assessment or 48 semester college hours
• Demonstrated competent language skills
• Experience working with children, individually or in groups, including reading and understanding word meanings and using them effectively
• Program training as specified by the Kentucky Department of Education and the local district
• Program-specific certifications/training

Note:

If your highest education is High School or GED you must take and pass the Kentucky Para educator Assessment Exam. The exam is free and you have three chances to obtain a passing score. For study assistance, refer to KPA Study Guide and KPA Prep Class with JCPS Adult Education. Sign up options and class information are provided by the district.
