Overview
ECE Instructional Assistant (MSD) at Chenoweth Elementary for the school year. Start time is 9:40 AM. Salary range is $24.52/hr – $26.96/hr working calendar: 187 days / 7 hours per day.

Scope of responsibilities:
The position is primarily supportive. Assist in implementing each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP). Help establish and maintain a pleasant, safe, and structured learning environment. Demonstrate willingness and aptitude to work with students with disabilities.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Passing score on the Kentucky Para educator Exam (KPA) or 48 college semester hours
- Willingness and aptitude to work with students with disabilities
- Physical ability and willingness to assist with physical needs of students (e.g., positioning, toileting, lifting)
- Willingness to attend district ECE in-service for professional growth
Notes on credentials and application:
If your highest education is a High School diploma or GED, you must take and pass the Kentucky Para educator Assessment (KPA). The exam is free and allows three attempts to pass. Assistance resources are available through KPA study guides, prep classes, and JCPS Adult Education. Applicants with transcripts from outside the United States must have credentials evaluated before being referred for vacancies.
