Kenyon College Tenure‑Track Position in Biology

Kenyon College invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Biology starting in July 2027. We seek a broadly trained molecular biologist with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and research. We welcome applicants working in any area of molecular biology, including but not limited to gene expression and regulation, genomics, structural biology, protein structure and function, and computational molecular biology.

• Teach five courses per year, including introductory biology, Molecular Biology, its associated laboratory course, and upper level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
• Develop and deliver interdisciplinary teaching and scholarship within and beyond the natural sciences.
• Lead an active research program engaging undergraduate collaborators, producing publications, and attracting extramural funding.

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in molecular biology or related field; post‑doctoral experience preferred.
• Broad experience in molecular biology with capacity for interdisciplinary work and a record of research productivity.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching practices, strong academic support for students, and effective mentoring for a diverse student population.
• Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching and the ability to mentor students.
