The Psychology Program at Southwest Minnesota State University seeks an Assistant Professor specializing in sport and performance psychology or health psychology. The position involves teaching a 24‑credit course load per year (12 credits each semester) with courses covering foundational psychology, sport and performance, health psychology, statistics for the behavioral sciences, and other area‑specific electives. Other duties include student advising, fostering student growth both on‑campus and online, committee service, student performance evaluation, ongoing professional development, supervision of student research, university service, and engagement with the broader Minnesota State College and University System.

• Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychology, with a specialization in sport & performance psychology, health psychology, or a closely related APA‑designated subfield (degree completed prior to start date).
• Effective undergraduate teaching experience, including serving as primary instructor of record for at least one core psychology course.
• Evidence of scholarly productivity (peer‑reviewed publications, conference presentations).
• Applied experience in sport & performance psychology or health psychology.
• Experience supervising undergraduate research and/or practicum/internship students.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and staff.
• Competence in instructional technology.
• Ability to contribute to interdisciplinary programming, outreach, or applied research.
